CANOE CULTURES MISSION STATEMENT

Canoe Cultures Society is an Indigenous-led organization dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and advancing Indigenous canoe cultures as living expressions of identity, knowledge, artistry, and community. We bring together Elders, Knowledge Keepers, artists, youth, and the public through carving, paddling, storytelling, cultural education, exhibitions, and on-the-water experiences that honour the enduring relationship between Indigenous Peoples and the land and waters.

Our programs foster the intergenerational sharing of traditional knowledge, strengthen Indigenous leadership, support artists and cultural practitioners, and create meaningful opportunities for learning and connection. By sharing authentic Indigenous voices and experiences, we promote understanding, inspire reconciliation, and help ensure that Indigenous cultures continue to thrive for generations to come.
